Disneyland is always the most instagram-able vacation, and a very sought after, especially by high schoolers. Disneyland is insanely over priced, and the hotels are even worse. So, how do these high schoolers afford the trip? What little tricks will make your time at disney less stressful and more enjoyable? You’ll have to keep on reading to find out.

Say you are going to disney for 3 nights and 4 days. The park hopper ticket for California Adventure and Disneyland for a 3 day pass is $330 a person, or a 2 day park hopper pass is $260. My advice is to do the park hopper ticket for at least 2 days, so that you can spend a day in each park. If you choose to do the 2 day pass, you can spend a day at a nearby beach or by your pool! It just depends on your preference and budget.

To save money on a hotel, don’t stay at a disney hotel. There are plenty hotels within walking distance to disney that aren’t sponsored or owned by them. Expedia has great package deals that will save you money on flights and hotel packages. Under bundle and save, put from Seattle to Disneyland Anaheim and it’ll show you the prices for the amount of nights you put in for flight and hotel combined per person. Package deals will save you the most money on the hotel and flight, so I suggest going off of expedia.

Next tip is cheap eats, if you are on a budget, cheap food at disneyland may be hard to find- but it is possible. The cheaper restaurants at both Disneyland and California Adventure are- Bengal Barbecues, Pizza Port, Galactic Grill, Jolly Holiday, Hungry Bear, Flo’s v8 Cafe, Award Wieners, and Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. The best time to eat to save money is around 4, because lunch prices are cheaper and the wait will be less time. Snacks that are cheap are any fruit, the Tigger Tail, ask for a cup of iced water- instead of buying a water bottle, and Pineapple Dole Soft Serve.

Now, this isn’t a budget tip, or how to save money- but it is an important one. In order to enjoy as many rides as possible, this list will provide so that you use your time efficiently. Disneyland first, start with buying your magic hour advanced entry so that you can get into the park at 6:30. (Trust me it is worth it) The first ride to literally run to is Peter Pan, following by Alice in Wonderland, and then Space Mtn. The lines for these rides get insanely long super fast- so be sure to RUN! After that- head down to the Astro Blasters, and get your fast pass for Star Wars. While you are waiting to go on Star Wars, scurry down to the Indiana Jones. Following Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and then all of the little rides your heart desires to go on! For California Adventure- you must run again, straight to Cars Land! Make sure to hit the big Car Race and Junkyard Jamboree while you’re there. Then the Toy Story Ride (It may be little but the lines get ridiculous), California Screamin, and the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride!

I hope your Disneyland trip is budget friendly and goes smoothly now, make sure to take notes! You’ll be needing them.
