Korean Skin Care Part One

Nicole Duttry, Staff Writer

It’s been the talk for months Korean Skin care is a highly talk about throughout the beauty community. Why is it such a big thing? There is a lot of steps to the process it takes time and commitment. It is called Korean skin care because, this is what they do in Korea. I have seen a lot of people do it but, I have not seen any teenagers do it. Which is weird do to teenagers having more skin care problems than adults. Although I am sure there has been teenagers doing this trend. I want to try it for myself but, I also wanted to make sure it was an affordable option. So I went to amazon I’m sure that going out to a beauty store or to World Market would have been fine but, I wanted to make sure I can compare princes and see the reviews which I could do at a store. On Amazon I found a KOREA Cosmetics brand called LANEIGE is had 4.5 stars and was only $7.94. Which is the price of one face scrub or face wash or some face mask. The set I choose was a moisturizing kit because, I tend to have dry skin. If you have oil skin you may want to modify to your needs.  It comes with 4 products (Skin Refiner, Emulsion, Water Bank and Gel Cream). Then I research their routine.

This is the skin care routine I will be mixing products I already have and the Laneige set. Remember to do test swatches to make sure you aren’t allergic to the product.

  1. Cleansing This is for removing the makeup. So I will first use dove bar soap (don’t use the same one you use for your body) then to remove the rest of my makeup I will use the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water.
  2. Exfoliate I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit scrubs
  3. Toner Neutrogena I will use the Oil-free Acne Stress Control
  4. Essence (Laneige emulsion)
  5. Serum I’m just using Argon Oil for my serum
  6. Sheet mask I already have a lot of sheet mask but, if you want to find affordable one go to my other article (face mask under $3).
  7. Eye Cream  For eye cream I’m using the ( Laneige Gel Cream because, its thick like a eye cream)
  8. Moisturizer  (the Laneige Kit is what I will use)
  9. Sleep mask ( I just made one which was a mixture of pond dry skin moisturizer and tea tree oil )
  10. Spf  ( I already have a spf lotion so I’m using it)

*You don’t need to Korean products you just have to do the routine.
